Lenny, I am on "relegation watch" today - Norwich need to Win AND have Barnsley lose today or else it is League 1 for us for the first time in about 50 years

Seems to be a lot of MSe'rs on relegation watch. It's especially bad "oop north" - Newcastle and Middlesborough in the drop zone, and Sunderland *just* outside...

I have loads to do but keep getting out of breath and having to stop to cough!
At least I am not likely to be distracted by either the football or the rugby.
Need to walk round to see Mum and Dad I suppose - not seen them since Mum's last evil bout 2 weeks ago.

Isolated, no.... I see my friends roughly once a week which I think is pretty good, but I think now we don't have a lot of time (me always working, them working and or having children) we might meet for a drink or meal - which is lovely don't get me wrong but we don't sit and talk much. Girlie chats are a thing of the past these days which is why I like chatting on here so much.

I think the big problem with Mum and me is that when I am unhappy - ie if things go wrong at work we are both unhappy and then we muddle through but I have been trying (not always successfully) on and off (for a while now!) to be positive and be happy and she just retreats and gets miserable. I know she wants things to change but its easier to stay in the old patterns. Like this weekend - i was really cheerful, watched some tv with Mum and then it was must tidy up cos sis is coming over and thats it tense and tidy sit on the sofa. I have suggested that we go out - nursery, pub lunch, or even watch a dvd but it is met with a panicky no we can't do that.

sorry this should be in my diary not in chat!
    Nevertheless she persisted.

No Buffy, chat is here for mutual support.
I think you are great living with your Mum - it would drive me nuts to share with mine.
It's a shame about being set off against your sister. My friend who was over just now rarely sees the other side of my Mum. Mum thinks she is wonderful - works full time, high powered job etc and is always comparing her to me. I, of course, do nothing! Easter Sunday was the first time that Sandra had seen my mother in full spate!

Can you not insist on your own space? If she puts the recycling in there shift it to her bedroom! :rotfl:

Edit: Just rang me mum and she broke down on the phone to me, it's so hard, I just wanna get down there and hug her.

  • Hi all!

Good grief, I think we must be passing on cyber germs. :D I've woke up with a sore throat and a vaguely stuffy head. James is still asleep so I'm just chilling out on my laptop. I'm meant to be starting some work on an essay soon so feel free to nag me if I'm on here too often. :D
