It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.

    I need some advice.

As some of you might know, I got diagnosed with depression just after Xmas. A load of my uni essays had to be put back until the summer because I couldn't get together the willpower to do them and I haven't managed to get another one done since. Sorting counselling out has been one problem after another so at the moment, I'm pretty much dealing with it on my own.

Looking back over my life, I've always been happiest when I'm out and about, doing things. When I'm sat at home, I get my low times and nothing gets done. I'm thinking of doing some volunteering which will really help with getting experience for the career I want after uni. However, I'm worried that if I take on other stuff, even if I think it would help me, I'll just wind up crashing and burning and nothing will get done. I'm already struggling with my workload as it is, because of having no motivation. That would suggest that taking on more is a very bad idea.

What do you guys think? Should I take on something else to try to motivate myself more and get a sense of achievement or should I try to concentrate on what I have to do as it is?
    Kayleigh

First question - do you suffer from SAD? In which case getting out and about will be a very good idea.

Second question - do you need to be *doing* anything? What about hill-walking groups?

    I am Buffy :)

Iam trying to get below 5k I think. I have 3k sitting in the bank burning a hole in DH's pocket and I think I shall just get on and use some of it to pay debts off. I was keeping it to see what happens with work but if I used 2k we would still have a little to fall back on

I've got a funny weekend next week. DD2's fiance's sister and child are coming to visit. As DD2 only has a bedsit I have volunteered to swop houses. Thinking behind this was that I could spend the evening with a friend. Unfortunately said friend is away for weekend. :D
I shall either go stir crazy or volunteer to do night feeds at DD1's.
