    Please ring up for the surrender value (not the same as the current value) and updated forecasts.Also please confirm your mortgage interest rate.

    It is quite possible to cash in your endowment even if it is assigned to your mortgage - you just ask Halifax to unassign it. If your mortgage rate is over 5% then it is likely to be best to cash it in and use the money and the premiums to overpay the mortgage, but post the figures and let's see.
    Trying to keep it simple...;)
