Hi I have a problem. I took a payday loan out and then deferred it and then had an emergency and told them that I could not pay it in one go. I owed £180 and continually emailed them to make arrangements to pay it up.
It was then handed to their recovery section and I have just agreed a payment plan and told them I would pat it at £30 a month for 2 months and then pay £60 for two months.
This was agreed and I was given the account numbers to pay cash into Barclays bank which I was about to do this Friday. However when going to take cash from my account, I found that the company had taken the full £180 from my account!!!
I really neeed some help here, is there anything that I can do? That cash was to pay bills and I am now seriously short of cash. Can they do this even after an arrangement was made? Can I complain to anyone that they have taken all this cash without telling me?
I know It was stupid to take a loan from them ............God do I know this, so its advice about my situation not my stupidity I need. :rotfl:

Hi there, i see that people are viewing my thread but dont as yet have any replies...................please, pretty please, some advice sought desperately!!!!0

You can try speaking to your bank to see if they will reverse the transaction as unauthorised, however you gave out your card details in the first place so this may not work.
You can also speak to the company concerned, if you have the payment plan in writing. An email will suffice. Different departments and all that.
You might be surprised, some of these companies are more reasonable than others. (Who was it with?)
Cancel your bank card just in case, really you should have done this as soon as you knew that you could not pay, but hindsight etc.
Good luck.0 -
Hello there,
I transferred all my cash to a different account for Feb and March so didnt think to cancel my card, but as it hadnt been taken and I was in process of getting a payment plan sorted and then finally agreed by email from their recovery team I didnt think to change over the cash this month.
It was with Pay day Uk. I have written two emails to both departments about my disgust in the way they took the cash without notification. I have asked for the return of the cash and payment plan to be set up or I will be taking it further.
The recovery team emailed me agrreeing terms and payments and gave me the account number to pay the cash into, yet they just took the cash regardless.
AS you can imagine, im quite peeeedd off!!!!
Appreciate your advice.0 -
I am not sure how the staff are paid, we need an insider to post on here, but if they get commission on processing outstanding payments, clearing balances early etc then that would explain a few things.
I have not dealt with PayDay UK, just most of the others, but it may be difficult to get them to admit fault and/or pay back what they took.
The copy of the email from their recovery department is your best bet.
Stick at it....0 -
The bank will take nothing to do with it. My own stupid fault, but I think its ridiculous that they can just dip into your account whenever they want to. Yes I know it needs paying but they took cash from my account when I hadn't authorial it as I was now meant to be on a payment plan.
Surely something needs to be done about this type of activity!!!!0 -
Can you use the rejig your payments towards the other bills, as they sure won't be at stupid rates of APR ?0

Sorry nomoney I dont know what you mean??? Im a bit numb at times lol0

Hi there,
Well after emailing the company continually for 20 minutes. I resent the same message about 40 times. I checked my account and they had returned the cash minus the amount for the monthly payment. However, no notification or reply to any of my emails!!!!
Victory!!!! Have to say I am really shocked they did it...........:j
Thanks for all the help anyhow xx0
