csa demand for 5 grand

My uncle has a daughter who is now in her early 20's. When he split with her mum always agreed an amount (set by csa) to pay and it was taken directly from his wages when he were working. He had all the wage slips to support he always paid the correct amount which they set many moons ago.
He is now a retired pensioner in his early 60's. For the past couple of years he has had a back and forth argument with them over this supposed 5grand he owes. Because his daughter stayed on at college he continued to pay up until she went in to full time work and i believe this has only stopped within the last 2 years. I have very limited information off all of this but can work of what i know.
During this time he has received letters from Csa stating one month he owes x amount and then it follows with an apology letter that it was an oversight on their behalf. Now a letter has come saying they are taking him to court for the outstanding amount. He can not afford to pay it as is only in receipt of pension credit. His landlord has been to see a solicitors on my uncles behalf (he wrote a letter giving permission for the case to be talked about in his absence as he can barely walk) and all of them have said they wont touch it with a barge pole and to try citizens advise. He has rung up for an appointment but they cant fit him in for 2 months - due to the recession they are having excessive numbers of people using the service.
Does have anyone have any advise on this situation or further ideas of whom to turn to for advise? Many thanks for reading.

You have to request a copy of the DP files in writing, this will give you the background to the case and all of the records. It takes a little bit of effort to get this, and then to go through it. Once you have it and have gone through it you can then consider your options and there are a few.
Please get back to me when you have this and I will try to help.0 -
