What can i do

My wife left me for somone else after 34 years together, now she wants to put the house up for sale. There is no mortgage, the property is worth about £180000. What is my best plan of action to buy out her share.
I am 56 years old and earn £16000 a year I have £30000 in savings which is mine.

You need divorce advice rather than mortgage advice, I think.

She may be entitled to half the value of the house and half your savings (and you to half hers). Nothing in a divorce is as easy as 'mine' and 'yours', unfortunately.

If you offer us some more details, we may be able to help. In any case, good luck.

See a solicitor collier, sorry to hear of your situation and I hope things work out but as above, it really is legal advice you need.
    Happily an ex mortgage broker!
  • Definitely solicitor advice.
