Something similar to uswitch , finding people cheaper gas, electricity and phone packages.

the last 12 months have been a nightmare to be honest, but to survive would be a personal achievement and put me in a position to reap the benefits when the market returns (if it ever does!!!!)
    regards :T

    Ditto.

I'm just glad I had the sense to put some money aside during the good years, otherwise I would have gone to the wall by now :o

I think its like that with a lot of jobs now, its like the builders, ive got a few mates who are in the building trade and the money was great when they had work, but now because they never put any money aside they are struggling.

Hopefully things will pick up for everyone, anyone whos willing to work should be able to, its just a shame the way things have gone, but its all linked.

I work for a major manafacturing company in the midlands and the production levels have gone up, they are now starting to put night shifts back on for the new models.

People have just tightend their belts when people have a bit of confidence in the security of their jobs they will start spending, then hopefully there will be a knock on effect and hopefully it will come back for everyone.

I have always been very cautious with money, as I have been in our game long enough to know that it can be turned off like a tap at any time (which it has been now).

I know I can survive until the end of the year, but I am actively looking for some kind of part time second job at the moment to run alongside the mortgage broking.

    Part of the Furniture
Surely they all have the appropriate insurance in place to tide them over if they lose their job / go out of business, don't they?

So you are currently doing something else to make ends meet as your signature states Mortgage Adviser.
How did you venture into manufacturing? What prompted yoru choice? i.e. pay, distance etc
