3 Late Payments- will it affect my score?

I have had a mortgage with the Woolwich for 4 years no probs.
Just put a deposit down on a new build and have tried to secure the 5.29 4 year fix 85% at Principality.
I have checked our credit scores. My other halfs is 999. Mine is 900 - I had a default registered against me by A & L, which they have removed after admitting an error.
However, it's still showing 3 late payments on a loan account until 08/07 at which point it was settled and closed.
I have an AiP from the Woolwich - who said it would need to go to the underwriters.
Will this affect my chances of a mortgage. I have no other late payments ever?
Principality don't run a credit check until you send in all your documents so wanted an answer asap!
What do you think?

Ian. Unfortunately this is a waiting game... the underwriters will only look at what they have got in black and white. As long as the advisor has done their work, it should be ok. The underwriters will definitely comeback on the defaults and if you have provided enough information to the advisor they can sometimes ok the mortgage.
Unfortunately, no one can help you except just to wait.Motto: 'If you don't ask, you don't get!!'

Does anyone know the answer?0 -
Thanks - there are no defaults, just one account showing three late payments settled 18 months ago. I told the advisor who said the application had just carried on - Would it terminate if they would not look at it?0
