Massive Ranted Needed!

Options
Here goes:

A couple of months back i lost my job in childcare,
(10 / 15 hours cut to around 6 hours to nothing!) so after placing my first ever post on the wonderful world of MSE! I climbed aboard the ladder and became a agent (As they call it for-) Betterware after 10 weeks everything seems great other then the "battle-axe" i was working for i really was having an upp! I even got called from a lady in my local area asking me if i'll like to take the position of sales leader for "Avon".

So everything seemed great, We even booked a family holiday together with extended family.

Then one day whilst i was out doing my rounds, i pulled my lower and upper back, neck and tummy. I continued to do my rounds for another week before having to go to the doctors.

In the same week of pulling my back my area manager (Not the battle- axe) Asked me to register as S/E so i did so to cover myself.
Also i placed my rounds and collected in and had no order's from 177 house's and 82 of them left notes inside my books saying something like:

" After the last rep for betterware, and not gaining our order's we wish to NOT have these books placed again"

So after finally going to the doc's my G.P advised me to cut down the amount i was doing or to pack the job in as my back was weak enough already!

So i called the battle-axe and asked her to see me on my drop day to have chats about what had gone on with everything already listed,
As she got here she said to me:

"177 books no order's how am i going to pay my bills?"
" i have 30 people wanting your round, can you make £350.00 before next week?"

I stood there mouth-opened, trying to get a word in edgeways, when she said

I think i'm going to sack you!

So now:-

I'm stuck, with pulled neck, back and tummy, not able to do house cleaning let alone, go to the job center.

Called Job center, they will not help me at all, as OH is working.

I have 15 boxes of betterware items (Books / wallets ect.)
And battle-axe will not come and get them

A family holiday i can not afford

And the council will not accept, Business rubbish / waste.

And i cant call Inland Rev Until the 14th of may as my landline is currently being suspended, whilst their workmen do " works" on the line, which is right on my doorstep!

all this has happened in less then a week (Mon) and now i totally at a lost cause, i dont know what way to turn next (without it being painful lol)

**** Rant over****

Sorry if you read this post and think god how boring lol

So Sorry to hear your bad news - hope you have a speedy recovery x

I agree - put the items in your wheelie bin noone will ever notice! If it's books, how about taking them to a recycling centre at a supermarket? That's what I do with my Avon books so that they don't end up in landfill!

Oh god what a palava, Im sorry you are in pain and not having much luck, I was having a bad week and also had to chat with my betterware coordinator as due to my full time job I wouldnt have as much time to do the betterware however is possible wanted to continue, she was happy to support me and do as much or as little as I can, she is so lovely though and even text me to see how my dogs are as they have been ill. Sounds like you really drew the short straw with your rep. Good luck in whatever you decide to do. I would recycle what you can in your bin.

Double bag the books, bin them and no one will see. It would of course be morally wrong to write the battle axes name and address on them and then fly tip them in the garden of the most militant and reactive person you know, so I would never suggest you do anything so rash :-)

More seriously, is the Dr sorting you out? Will they refer you to a physio to suggest some gentle strengthening stretching exercises to help you recuperate?

Really bad luck on the holiday, any way of getting your money back, maybe downgrading if you still really want a break?

Well thank you for all your help and support!

The only thing atm really worrying me is that of the fact, i have now registered as S/E, they will be charging me for tax? I put credit on my mobile yesterday afternoon and after waiting 34 mins for someone to answer me the said that i had been put through to the wrong call center and that i now have to applied for my paperwork to be void?

As for the books, papers, wallets, I still have no clue what i'm going to do with them, will get that sorted though as thats the easy part of my mess!

Holiday i have no clue until the workmen free the landlines in the area,
Might have to downgrade as far as camping, which no one in our family has ever done, so should be a giggle!

As for my back, What my GP has told me is, atm he is thinking its pulled joints ect..

But if the pain is still there after 3 weeks they will be refering me to have scans done to make sure.

But can this horrid battle-axe really fire me as i did not make enough for her, she lied over and over making me look the bad one, She nearly made me lose £85.00 worth of order's, because she wanted a holiday spare of the moment, tried to charge me for damaged goods (which is her job to check before giving them to me?)

thanks for all the help peeps

just wondering if it is possible to email the tax people instead of phoning them ?
or do they do a ring back service ?

camping will be a laugh, it's something different to do, a new experience for all <big grin>

personally i'd forget about the battle-axe now, whats done is done and not worth worrying over now (been there with another job, worrying etc is not worth it) ... you WILL find something better

Hmmm... I don't work for Betterware or anything similar, but I'd imagine if you get in touch with their central management and explain the situation, you'd at least have the satisfaction of having made an official complain against this woman. Otherwise I totally agree with Cally, take it as a sign its time to move on to bigger and better things :-)

I wouldn't worry about your tax - they only charge you tax on your earninsg and if you aren't earning anything then they can't charge you! You will need to let them you've stopped though once you are able, as I imagine you might have registered to pay NI? Should be easy enough to sort though, my OH registered as S/E earlier in the year, nothing ever really came of it but as he had never received anything in the post (he applied online) he assumed nothing had been done. Last week he got a NI bill which he rung up about and they said you just send a letter explaining and you won't need to pay it.

    Hi Princess,

Really sorry about all the trouble you're going through at the moment! I've been in similar situations so I think I understand what you're going through, the important thing is to just be strong and don't let your circumstances keep you down. Keep going :)

With regard to your taxes: you cannot be billed for any tax/NI contribution's if you're earning under a minimum threshold (even if you are self-employed) so try not to worry too much about that because from the sound of it I don't think you'll have earned enough!

With regard to your medical issues: Ask your doctor to refer you to a physiotherapist, its usually free of charge if you're referred to your local clinic/hospital by your GP.

With regard to your job: Its completely up to you what you want to do, if you want to do something like catalogues then don't let bad experiences put you off. I've been a Kleeneze distributor for 4 months and I absolutely love my job and i've made money every single month from it. Even in my first month. But its definitely not for everyone!

Don't let one bad apple put you off if its what you want to do, see if you can switch to another team or go for another position. She's lying if she's saying she's got 30 people waiting for your job and hanging a sacking over your head is just bullying. I'd walk away from her and do something where you don't have to report to somebody else.

Now i'm not trying to recruit, but if you take Kleeneze for example, it does cost a little more to join but the catalogues come out twice a year so you can keep reusing them, the commission is generally higher, the returns process seems simpler than other MLM companies i've had dealings with and best of all, you report to nobody but yourself. We don't have area reps.. we place our own orders direct with the company, and they're delivered directly to us. We're in business for ourselves, not to earn some mardy [insert profanity here] £350.00 in a week.

If you want to do what you're doing, then you should think about joining a different company (not necessarily Kleeneze!) or even just a different team. Do your research.
