Capquest help needed.....

Hi I have been looking through previous threads on this board, all of which have been very helpful but I am still not sure what to do.
My friends have received the following letter from capquest. As far as he is aware he did have a credit card with a limit of around £300. He isn't sure how long ago it was but said it was a good few years ago. I have asked them to come to my house tomorrow to try to sort out some letters to send and get a copy of their credit report.
Does it sound right that they could add on all this interest and still keep adding it on ??

Letter
Barlcaycard Ltd take notice that unless this account is paid in full or a satisfactory proposal to settlement is received on 21 March 2006 court proceedings may be issued against you without further notice if your case has not previously been issued upon the following costs will be added to this debt.

Interest where applicable will also be added on a daily basis. If a judgement has previously been registered against you for this case enforcement action will result in further costs and fees being added. Your payment must be sent without delay.

They should be careful not to acknowledge the debt at this stage. It may well be statute barred (i.e. over six years since last acknowledged) or no signed agreement.
Harrassed has an effective letter that he often recommends. Try this thread:

Do a search on Grumbletext for 'Capquest'. You'll find all the answers you need there. As Fatbelly says, DO NOT acknowledge the debt at the moment. Crapquest make a LOT of mistakes.

Thanks, I'm going to type the letter up now for them. They are really worried about it. Do you know if they could keep adding on interest if it was within 6 years ??? I'm going to check grumbletext now.Nice to save.0
