Sainsburys sandwiches/refunds policy

Hi

This morning i picked up what i thought was 2 cheese and ham sandwiches and was infact 2 cheese and egg. I had literally left the shop for about 2 mins when i realised, went back in and asked if i could swap them and was told no.
the SA advised i had left the shop and could change them or give me the money back for them. i showed her the receipt and showed i had only had them a couple minutes but was pretty firm.

sainsburys are usually so good at returning things even if its food, anyone know why they would do this?

were not allowed to refund any chilled/frozen items at all unless theres a proper problem with them rather than you changing your mind.
Food could have been contaminated. Likewise any food dumped at checkouts thats been out of the freezer or chiller cannot be put back in

thanks for clearing it up for me. no harm done as they were still eaten!
