Words/phrases that should be banned for our own good

the government's preparations for a real pandemic (for instance a virulent strain of flu that actually transmits effectively from human to human) are not going to be tested by this minor outbreak of piggy flu which appears to be completely ineffective at jumping from person to person.

on that note, if pandemic hasn't already been banned, can I have that as well.

Spanish flu started mildly. It went on to infect one third of the world's population and kill 40 million.

In fact, there are striking similarities between the current swine flu outbreak and the origins of spanish flu. This is why the authorities are genuinely scared.
