Debt collection help!

Well I am now being harrassed by these lovely people, I am just wondering if they have any authority to change your credit rating? any1 know

These people are simply amazing. Joined my gym in 2003 under another company and signed a membership agreement with them, then taken over by another company and then David Lloyd bought my gym in 2007 and received new terms and conditions and a new membership card. Cancelled my membership in Jan 2008 giving one months notice as I obvioulsy entered into a 'new' contract with David Lloyd when they bought my gym and sent me new terms and conditions. David Lloyd insisted on 3 months noticed based on the contract signed in 2003 (the old contract).

Wrote to them in February several times and they ignored and sent a theatening letters and said they would refer to ARC. I worte to them on 24th February 2009 and stated that I had sought legal advice and that they should stop sending chasing letters and close their records. I never heard anything for the last SIX MONTHS until today. The £89 they were originally chasing has gone up to £356 without any explanation or previous letters !! And once again they are threatening ARC who i have not heard from to date

Can they keep chasing me after 6 months of my last letter ?!
