Edinburgh city centre using P&R
Options
Heading for the Playhouse Theatre on Saturday and know the city centre is a nightmare to drive and park in just now so thought I could do the P&R from Ferrytoll (coming from Perth direction) which I thought would be easier and less stressful. Can someone please tell me if the P&R services run through the day into early evening (8pm ish) on a Saturday, and if Ferrytoll would be the best location to pick up the P&R from this side. I checked online but there are quite a few P&R stations I just don't know if this would be the best one. Also any idea of the cost? Any advice/help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Mairi

Probably easier by train or bus straight there and back? One will add slot of time on the journey, ESP when traffic at 8 will be light anyway. Loads of space at omni at that time.0

All the info you need is on the website

Looks as though the Ferry Toll P&R is open til midnight and a day ticket to Edinburgh will cost just under £5.
The P&R at Ingliston (just by the airport) might also be a good one, it's just over the bridge but you don't have to go into the city centre. An all day ticket on Lothian Buses is around £2.50
As Wallacebob says, 8pm on a Saturday you should be okay getting in and out of the city and there's plenty of parking in Greenside Place/Omni.0 -
Yeh there are lots of buses...
it is closest to get off at the bus station and cut through along Queen Street or the St James Centre/John Lewis(to the carpet dept exit) if it's open
(btw also an all dayticket Lothian buses is now £3)0 -

But long queues to pay to get out of the Omni after being at the Playhouse.0 -
Thank you all so much for your more than helpful replies. I think we're going to use the park and ride at Ingleston and take the X48 straight into town. Seems like the easiest route and the buses run frequently whatever time of day or night so we don't have to worry about parking or getting lost! Much appreciated. Mairi0
