Has anyone any experience of this company? They advertise researcher positions from time to time.

I have experience of this company as a client, rather than researcher. I've had a less than positive experience so I'd say, take care.0

I have worked for 2 of the 10 largest advertising agencies in the world, and in the last few years have regularly used Compariter as a means of networking and keeping up to date with market requirements, although every now and then, tenders are unsuccessful, with this service the majority of the work in gaining the opportunity to tender is carried out by experienced and diligent business consultants - a service I highly recommend to all in the advertising and pr sector!0

Hi there, I have been working for Compariter for 14 months now and can assure you it is genuine. It's not for everyone, I reckon you need to be a bit experienced in the business world to make a go of it, articulate and patient etc but it's not selling and you are in general talking to people who are intelligent and courteous. You are paid on verified results. I made money from the first week and by a couple of months in was making a decent income from home which has proved a lifesaver. Personally, having done a fair bit of this sort of thing it is easily the best online, from-home job out there. I enjoy it, wouldn't change it and find it interesting. Great for gaining experience if you want to work in advertising or PR too. I previously worked for a UK ad agency which I loved and this has proved to be a great way of keeping in touch with the industry.
And thanks for the recommendation John - we seriously aim to please!0 -
I should say that the co is currently recruiting for both UK and Australian business hours. PM me if you want details.0

Any chance of a view point by a member with a higher post count please?
Sounds interesting but could be a waste of time etc.0 -
Did anyone end up applying to this company and finding out more?
Out of my mind. Back in five minutes.0 -

I have been sent a user name and password by Compariter but want to check a couple of things before I go any further. Perhaps you can tell me something about the payment arrangements for research work? I have the following questions;-
1. How much is the pay per hour?
2. Is there a basic rate or is payment only made on commission?
3. If this is the case, what are the grounds for being classed as having earned commission?
4. What evidence is required of having earned commission, and is this collected by Compariter or does it need to be provided by the researcher?
5. I live in Spain, but have a line that gives me free calls to landlines in the UK, Spain, Germany and Ireland but 0845 numbers etc are charged. Are call charges paid by Compariter?
6. If not, are most calls to standard landline numbers in the above listed countries? And can the researcher select which numbers to call if some are to numbers which are charged?
Many thanks, I look forward to hearing back from you,

Hi - just wondering if you ever found out any more about Compariter?0
-
Hi Beaj, I'll answer inline to save time, somewhat in haste. A lot of what you ask is actually answered on the site if you log in with the name and password you've been sent and click on where it says 'Training Docs' in the menu at the top of the page.
"Dear Gina,
I have been sent a user name and password by Compariter but want to check a couple of things before I go any further. Perhaps you can tell me something about the payment arrangements for research work? I have the following questions;-
1. How much is the pay per hour?
2. Is there a basic rate or is payment only made on commission?
Answer to 1 and 2 - it's commission only. There is no hourly rate, it simply wouldn't be practicable. However, if you apply yourself to understanding what the company is doing and follow the instructions etc given results are definitely achievable and it's possible to make a good hourly rate. It's also a job where it is possible to learn a great deal as you go and also to build up good relationships with contacts over months or even years which will steadily improve your results.
3. If this is the case, what are the grounds for being classed as having earned commission?
The full details of this are available on the site in the Training Docs and too involved to go into here. Your payment is not dependent on the lead selling, an appointment being kept or the buyer getting business from it.
4. What evidence is required of having earned commission, and is this collected by Compariter or does it need to be provided by the researcher?
Compariter verifies all our callers' leads by making a call to the contact given. If what you have given them is accurate, in line with the rules explained in the Training Docs and confirmed by the contact then you get paid the following week.
5. I live in Spain, but have a line that gives me free calls to landlines in the UK, Spain, Germany and Ireland but 0845 numbers etc are charged. Are call charges paid by Compariter?
You are responsible for your own call charges. Most of use a Skype package giving free calls to landlines in the country you work in which works out very cheap indeed (sure is a lot cheaper than getting the bus to work for a month!). I'm currently looking into a package from a company called Smart Voip which appears to give incredibly low rates to mobiles - as things stand I only call mobiles if I absolutely have to.
6. If not, are most calls to standard landline numbers in the above listed countries? And can the researcher select which numbers to call if some are to numbers which are charged?
Yes it is up to you what you call. I don't call 0870 and 0845 numbers unless I can find an alternative on Say No to 0870 which is a pretty good resource I think I probably learned about either through other callers at Compariter. Highly recommended:
I can't post the link as I have not been posting here long enough but am sure it's easy to find it by googling.
Many thanks, I look forward to hearing back from you,
Beaj
The best thing you can do Beaj is check in with the details sent to you and then correspond with the UK manager once you have read all the materials given - she's excellent! It's a self-employed position and up to you how much time you put in and how you manage it - but the company gives as much support and information as it can to callers, they have certainly treated me very fairly and been enormously helpful. They also give you all the data you need, excellent database tools for managing notes and callbacks effectively and plenty of instructions for using those tools to your best advantage. There's a blog on the site where you can share experience with other callers and lots of feedback given to help you from management and verifiers.
Gotta dash, calls to make! PM me if you want. Good luck!0 -
Thanks for all the information Gina, I will get on to the training site and have a look.
