yeah as soon as they came on i moved all stock to pending. Its amazing how many stores dont do simple things like that and wonder why they have stacks of complaints against them0

I bought one @ the £39.99 price and had the same problems with the black screen. When I saw it went down to £29.99 I thought of taking it back and then buying at the lower price but as they have been recalled, got there a bit late
Anyway the problen I have found is the type of media used.Using Maxell CD-RW the unit never skips a beat, but the same file on a TDK CD-RW(burnt @ same speed (x4)) I am more likely to get the black screen and then more often than not I have to unplug.
Now I'm not able to get it cheaper I'm going to keep it anyway as I believe the problem is solved. Also I found it multi-region straight out of the box.
Hope this info helps someone if they still have it0 -
you could always take it back for a refund as its been recalled?0
-
Yup,I could I suppose.I will try local store tomorrow to see if it comes up on the cat. no. as the website says it is no longer available.
On saying that,if it is not possible to get it anymore I still reckon at £39.99 it was still a bargain as it seems to do everytihng I want it to do.
Basically don't take it back without trying different media, whatever price you paid for it.If you can find one for £29.99 then imo it's worth it.It also plays .srt files as well.0 -

My bad,but I forgot to post that I took this item back for refund.
I would like to retract my earlier statement about it being media related.Might have been a codec thing but I got tired of testing0 -

Just to warn you all that the recalled stock are now being sold in Netto for £19.99, still with the same problems as before.
I'd avoid if I were you.Total Debt: Owe about £19,000 on credit cards plus £24,000 which is my half of joint loans.0 -

Is this the same prodct that Argos was selling anyway? I know they have the same model number and the Argos cat. code is on the box but the Argos book pictured this product like this:
That product is currently being sold by Richer Sounds for £29.99.

The Netto product looked like this:"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100
