Urgent Help Needed - HFC Loan

I have a loan agreement with HFC over which I am being taken to court. I was ill last year with severe depression and stress and as a result ended up out of work. I informed HFC of this to claim on my PPI and received nothing back from them. I arranged over the phone for someone to call me but they never did. I wrote on a number of occassions but heard nothing back from them until just before Xmas I heard from their solicitors. I wrote to the solicitors informing them of the situation and all I received back form them was a short note saying it would need a significant offer from me to avoid court. I recieved initial court papers in February and filled them in explaining the situation and heard nothing back until this last week when I have recieved a demand to attend court on the 29th May as HFC have said that I have no hope of providing a defence. CAB are saying they can't see me for over 6 weeks. I was told at the time of taking out the loan that I had to take the PPI and charged up front on the loan amount(but thats a different situation) but when I have tried to claim they have ignored me and taken me to court. I have now received a letter from the PPI company saying that the policy has been cancelled and that they will accept no claims with the value of the policy being returned to HFC.
I need help but haven't a clue where to turn. Due to my stress and depression I struggle with the phone and have been writing to comapnies as a result of this.
All help and advise is appreciated and thankyou in advance. I'm not even sure I have posted this in the correct section.

Suggest you try the ombudsmans services or a solicitor.
Not sure how it works, but maybe the court can help you to ensure justice is done and HFC, with their legal departments and experts are abusing the courts system.
It certainly sounds like HFC are trying their luck.
Nothing wrong with keeping everything in writing.
If citizens advice can't help dry national debtline or CCCS.
Prepare a statement of affairs if you haven't already to demonstrate to the court that you don't have the ability to pay what is demanded.

Provide the court with evidence of your payment protection policy and claim letters which have been ignored and the benefit to which you think you are entitled.
Good luck
R.Smile, it makes people wonder what you have been up to.

No point in losing hope over debt! If you can't afford to pay - you don't have to - that is at least one benefit of living in the UK with its legal system and rules.
It sounds very much like HFC are taking advantage of you and I hope the court come down on them like a tonne of bricks!
Good luck

I wish OP all the luck in sorting his life and debt out but want to say that most PPI does not cover stress/depression type of illnesses.0
