Hi,
I moved into my current house 5 yeras ago now and since then we have been constantly receiving letters from the likes of Lowell and Wescot chasing money owed by the previous occupant. We have repeatedly telephoned these people and told them that this person does not live here anymore but I'm getting sick of it appearing on my phone bill! It has on one occasion got as far as a note through the door from the bailiffs which I am particualrly annoyed about given it's nothing to do with me!
Is there anything I can do to stop these companies comoing up with this address whilst they pursue this guy? I know it may seem like a small inconvenience but every 2 or 3 months I have to call at least 2 different collection companies to say the guy isn't here knowing they will ignore me and the whole thing starts again a bit later
Any help much appreciated
Jimmy

stop calling them and put any mail not for you in the bin, they are just automatically sending the same letters to every point of contact they have for there customer in the hope that one will reach them. you have nothing to worry about. It is pointless calling them as they have no power to change any account details received from a third party (you) as this breaches data protection. Good luck !0
