A Huge Thank You

Hello Everyone

After the new year I posted a message asking for help with a problem I was having with egg who took over £4k out of my bank account (or tried to)without being asked to. As a result I incurred charges left right and centre. I complained and was told numerous time someone would call be back but they never did.
Anyway to cut a long story short I wrote to them (twice) and have had a reply saying they would pay my charges - HURRAY!!! All but one charge has been refunded to my account so I'm just keeping a watchful eye on it for the last £20 to appear!!

HURRAY!!!!

SO a huge thank you to everyone for their help advice and support!

Good news - don't let them get away with the remaining £20!

I have no intention of letting them get away with it. I feel confident now I have flexed my consumer muscle! A trading standards officer helped me draft the letter and I have kept their reply which says they will "repay the charges I incurred" - so there is no way they will get away with it!!!
As soon as they do I am cancelling my card and having nothing more to do with them!!!
I'm on a role now. I have changed my current account to Alliance and Leicester - and am v excited about their 10% savings rate. I'm going to keep a close eye on my spends and will hopefully be debt free (without mortgage!) in 18 months as long as my little R-reg Clio stays in good health!

That's great news! But I often read the lady in the Satuday Telegraph (Jessica, I think she is) and when she sorts out people's problems with banks they usually offer a small amount as compensation for the trouble they've been caused - I think it is a pity they haven't offered you something like that.
