Post Office not keeping their promise?!

It's a bit of a long story, sorry.......We did the full mortgage application with the Post Office before the cut off date for the 5yr fixed at 4.15%. Unfortunatly after paying the fee for valuation and survey the seller changed her mind and decided not to sell after all. I rang the PO ad explained the situation, the girl replied that they would send out a change of property address form and we would have up to a month to send it back with the new house's address (if we found one), if this was done we could keep the 4.15% rate. So far we haven't found another house but working on it! I recieved a letter from the PO yesterday saying that we had 3 months to find a property but if their rate changed before we found another house we would only be offered the new rate and not the original promised.

So does this mean that we lose the 4.15% anyway, as it was pulled last week?

I've given them a ring and waiting for someone to ring back, but thought I'd ask if anyone else had been in the same situation?

Yes, sounds like they're honouring the mortgage agreement, i.e. they will lend to you, but not at that rate.
