Mileage allowance relief

Having never submitted a claim for the above I am unsure of entitlement.
Mileage Allowance Relief calculated after deductions from employer is £3920. This was after I did the maths bit reccommended on the HMRC website. This is for tax year 06-07, 07-08 and £1200 for 08-09.
I earned £39k for 06/07, £48k for 07/08 and £45k for 08/09. How much can I expect to get back from tax man? I know its normally 22% but what if I've entered the 40% tax bracket.
Any help greatly appreciated
