Buying cigarettes online...

Hey everybody,

I have been doing a few searches online and found that you can buy bulk packets of cigarettes online for cheaper than popping down the shop everytime.

Has anybody done this? My parents used to live abroad so I'd buy a pack of 200 duty paid cigs for about a £5 and bring about 2,000 back and one pack of duty free and that would do me for 6 months. But now I can't do that and short of giving up (Not quite ready for that yet) I want to find a way of saving money on them.

Any experience let me know!

Not illegal for the companies to seel them, but illegal for you to buy them (or more accurately to import them).

We've had the odd thread about this - seems to be very hit and miss - sometimes they get through, other times confiscated by customs (and kiss your dosh bye bye) - still illegal though.

Dunno where you brought 2,00 back at £5 a sleeve - only legal from EU countries (rest of world is max 200) and they tend to be at least £25 a sleeve.

Never had a problem bringing back up to 4,000 from the EU (think Greece, Spain, and Portugal are the cheapest) from holiday. Have known a couple of peeps who went on long weekends to Spain, but seems like hard work to me...

Have a look here before being tempted to buy cigarettes from anywhere other than a 'reputable' retailer:

    http://www.dodgycigs.co.uk/

There are approx 4000 chemicals in the smoke from a legit cigarette, more than 100 of which are known to be harmful... and they're the legal ones!

But cheap knock-off fags are even more risky. You don't know what you're buying...

I'm sure that's not what you're suggesting LondonGirl08, but for anyone in any doubt... ;)
