A quick search with the words 'freezing sandwiches' comes up with this thread.

    HTH;)
  • I really don't see the point of freezing bread... ok maybe if you live in the middle of nowhere or prefer a certain brand that is on special offer, but it's always better fresh and if you live in a city you are probably no more than 5 mins from somewhere selling bread.

As for sandwich fillings, you can freeze most hams and roasted meats. Also consider stuff like tuna which is canned and you can store for a long time.

The biggest problem I have with sandwiches is that I get bored of the same thing everyday. However I only buy food for myself, so a pack of ham has to be eaten before it goes off. If you have a family that can help you get through stuff should be easier.

As for stuff which freezes easily and makes good lunch: soups!

I recently made up a loaf of bread with some ham sandwiches, some ham and cheddar cheese, and some cheese and chutney sandwiches. So far all have been fine when defrosted. I've also (for an occasional breakfast treat) frozen some muffins filled with bacon, scrambled egg and cheese, and these have also been fine when microwaved for about 2 mins to defrost and heat up (need to stick a knife in the centre at the end though to make sure the egg has heated all the way through!)

I freeze sandwiches made from cooked meat & tinned fish and they're fine. I make the childrens sandwiches up every week then they just have to get them out in the morning. I don't put things like sliced tomatoe or salad on - they slice it & put it on in the morning depending on what they're in the mood for. HTH.

I live 50 yards from a Morrisons, and even closer to a Spar, but I freeze a lot of bread.

I only use two slices per day, and at about 20 slices per loaf I have never found one that will last 10 days.

Making a batch of sandwiches and freezing them is the only way to use up a full loaf.

I never buy bread and I don't like having the oven on for just one loaf, so I bake four at once and freeze the extras. We get through four loaves in three days. Not everyone's situation is the same as yours;)

I freeze ham and chicken sandwiches, I work as a Supply Teacher so it's much easier to get a sandwich out the freezer on the days I get a call for work than making one in the morning!

I probably should have looked at the packets of ham to check they could be but all the stuff ive frozen has tasted fine! My mum has frozen cream cheese ones and they have been ok. I dont like cheese sandwiches but have frozen grated cheese before so i assume when its frozen inside bread it would be fine!
