Can't install Media Player

Wasn't able to open a video file with media player - got error message saying I should re-install media player. After downloading setup file and running media player setup I get an error saying there is an internal error and it won't complete the installation. Can't open system restore either. Any ideas?

How about going to Control Panel, uninstalling Media Player, then installing it from scratch?0
