Sky Plus Installation

I have cancelled Sky and my friend is buying the Sky Plus Box of us as Sky don't want it back, I didn't even realise I could sell it until they told me. Anyway, I wanted to ask if anyone can point me in the direction of an installer, I can just imagine the charge if she rings Sky direct. I did have a number of a Sky installer who came here once and did bits and pieces privately but I can't find it.
Or has anybody done this and is it complicated?
Anyone help?

Do you need a dish installed or just a second feed for the Sky+?0

Any decent independent TV shop should be able to point you in the right direction, it depends what area you are in. Blackwoods at the Four Winds for a startNorn Iron Club Member No. 252 :beer:0

Hi It should be easy to solve. I have a link to upstairs bedroom. Just that we moved position of main TV downstairs and had to undo cables. Although SKY downstairs is working OK I cannot get link to upstairs again. I seem to have tried every combination but just cant get it to work.
Thanks for any help0 -

Is the link using a magic eye, ie. the RFout on your sky dish, if so did you reconnect this and are you sure where you connected it to is connected to the aerial point you are using upstairs?0 -
Yes it is through magic Eye. Connection on this upstairs is fine, but it is downstair connections I have just got so confused as to what goes in where. I have tried most combinations but cant get it to work.
Thanks0 -
It should be coming out of RF2 on your Sky box, if it is the same box as before the supply for the magic eye should still be switched on. If not go to Services, then system set up, then press 0, 1, select and this shows a "hidden menu" select RF outlets and make sure RF2 is turned on.

I have had the same setup as jmcateer describes. The upstairs link via the Magic Eye was fine for a while then just ceased to work.
The RF settings are fine but my point is that sometimes the link just does not work.
I know I have it correctly installed just resigned to the fact I have to get up to turn the television over.0
