My doctor won't take my implanon out. They keep giving me different contraceptive pills to take with it to stop the constant bleeding I get with it (8 months so far) I've developed acne and my breasts leak milk. There was 1 pill that stopped the bleeding, but it also dried my eyes out so everytime I wore my contact lens' I ended up with conjunctivitus and I loathe wearing glasses.

I'm now on Cilest, and I bleed from morning until 2pm, then it stops until the next day. I have anaemia now, not sure if it's caused by all the bleeding and yet THEY STILL WON'T TAKE IT OUT! I really don't understand why they won't, I hate it.

If I were you I would DEMAND to see a different doctor to take it out. If they are giving you alternative pills, they are admitting that the implant isn't working. You really should insist on seeing someone else and getting sorted.

If it helps at all, I'm on Cerazette and I've had no side effects at all.
I had bad skin to start with, but after getting worse with the implant, it is slowly improving now over time.

I really feel for you - I thought it was only me that suffered like that. Big hugs coming your way! x

If you go to your local walk in centre or family planning clinic they will take it out for you, I had mine taken out and replaced. I took started periods again so went and got microgynon30.

Ladies, no contraception is totally effective!

This is why OH and I use the pill and condoms until we're in the position where we could support a child. Better safe than sorry!

To the OP, I would definitely take a test to put your mind at ease. It is perfectly possible to become pregnant with any form of contraception.

Yes it is...and weve got the living proof..My daughter (20) had implanon in May 2007...she put on a bit of weight and the doctor said not to worry, implanon did that with some people.
On the night of the 19 April 2008 ....she kept complaining of stomach pains and back ache...we put it down to her being out the night before and drinking to much and dancing( well headbanging..shes into rock music)
At 4 oclock Sunday morning she woke us up bent double with pain...thinking she had appendicitus I rushed her to hospital. In the cubicle they checked her and I will never forget their next words.."I can see a head"
At 5.46 am she had a baby boy. You can imagine the shock...we had absolutely nothing at home...my husband thought she had died because I came home with all her clothes and he said I was just as white as a sheet.

Zac is now just over a year and we would not be without him...but SPANIEL36 I would definately check it out with a doctor.
    Thanks to all comp posters:A

I'm on my 3rd Implant and have had no problems with it at all. When i had my last one fitted they told me it was the safest form but there was a tiny chance i could still get pregnant, something like 1 in every 200 people. Every few months i take a pregnancy test just in case! It puts my mind at ease, why don't you do the same? I guess for some people it just doesn't agree with them, mind you i was taken of microgynon after suffering from mini strokes! and i know a lady who got pregnant using condoms (twins), the pill (3rd child) and the coil (4th child - 17 years after the last!) So i guess the only way is to abstain to be 100% safe!!
