Lifeline screening

I am about to have the lifeline screening at a very cheap price. I saw an ad for the LifeLine screeing in my local news paper. They are offering for 4 tests, see below:
  1. stroke/carotid artery screening
  2. Atrial fibrillation screening
  3. Abdominal aortic aneurysm(AAA)
  4. peripheral arterial disease(PAD) screening
On top Blood work and osteoporosis screening

The whole will cost a person around £179.00. I have booked my appointment for all those tests with them. Although ,I never tried them before and dont know how accurate their results will be. I have some health problem and therefore will be too glad to hear from some one who have had an experience with the LifeLine before and how accurately they were tested against the listed ilnesses.
The lifeLine are doing their mobile screeing in various places in the south east right now and I believe they must have already attended so many people.

thank you

Thanks for posting this. What a pity no one seemed able to help. I'm thinking of going for the same thing, though the price where I am is £139.

Seems Martin's site is great for 2 for 1 pizza deals, but has failed us in ythis important area.:(

    How did you get on?

First, thank you for signing up with Life Line Screening. The diseases we screen for are typically asymptomatic before they become more advanced, so taking proactive measures via health screening is a great step to take.

In response to your question about test accuracy, we can assure you that all Life Line Screening health screenings are very accurate. We have conducted millions of screenings since 1993. Our health screening technologists are also highly trained, and all test results are studied by board-certified physicians (whose diagnoses are also peer-reviewed).

  • Life line screening were very quick to take my money.

I went for the tests, and despite them saying I would get my results in 21 days, I have heard nothing.

I have phoned and asked to speak with a manager, but so far they have not called back.

I have phoned and asked to speak with a manager, but so far they have not called back.

On the other hand, I went ahead, had the screening and got my results, all within the 21 days, as advertised.

Presumably, the thousands of others who have done likewise have also been adequately served, or you would have been able to quote their disgruntled posts or a media investigation in yours.

I would suggest that yours is an isolated glitch; frustrating for you, but not necessarily warranting the headline you've given: 'Beware of this company.'

Before you put people off seeking independent medical screening, you should have an adequate case against the company and include details like how long you have been waiting.

These tests are still the easiest way many of us can gain reassurance and/or or initial pointers, though I dare say the tests offered can also be obtained through the NHS with a bit of a wait. The question is whether it would be a good thing for reasonably fit people to clog up NHS systems with such checks.

One word of warning from me though. The tests from Lifeline cannot be claimed for from insurance schemes like Simply Health. :(

I just received a flyer for a "Life Line Screening" screening for 20 October 2011 at Broxborne Borough FC, Cheshunt. If the quality standards of a company is so poor it cannot spell Broxbourne then would you trust this company to undertake a medical service! I could not believe that once again medical services are being offered by people without access to my medical history and thus do not know how risky it is to scan people without checking with their GP. If a GP feels a scan is necessary then the scan is free on the NHS. If you cannot have timely access to a GP then you do not live in the UK or do not know how to contact your Council for advice.

See the BBC article "Warning over private health scans"
    (news bbc co uk / 1 / hi / health / 8030253stm) .

I suggest you report this company Life Line Screening website "lifelinescreening co uk" to the Government's Consumer Direct website "consumerdirect gov uk" , as I have just done. Hopefully this might help to protect the vulnerable. If you still want to spend £139, I suggest give the money to The Stroke Association (stroke org uk) rather than Life Line Screening.

Note that the advice for stroke prevention (stroke org uk / information / stroke_prevention ) does NOT include the advice that there is a need to pay for screenings. Judge for yourselves. Find out who owns this company and find out their profit margins.
  • I did a search on here for lifeline screenings as I wanted to get screens done and saw their advert - obviously this has brought up unhappy customers but has anyone been happy with them?

The advert offered an "exclsuive price" for my magazine's readers but when I went to their website this was being offered to everyone

The small prints says that "postal charges may apply" which was my main reason for checking here first - has anyone paid them and were they reasonable?
You never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow

Perhaps we should trust them about as much as someone who can't get their subject/verb agreement right, eh? ;)

Blossomhill, I'm a satisfied customer. I went to my GP and asked if some symptoms I had might indicate an aneurysm.

He said, "I don't think so, but I'm not 100% sure, so I can refer you to the hospital if you want a scan. However, it may take a while to come through."

I didn't want to wait, so as I could afford it, I paid for a local screening. Nobody twisted my arm. I turned down offers I felt were inapplicable, like the osteoporosis tests, just as I'd ignore things that don't interest me in electrical shops, or booksellers.

I think the 'exclusive price' deal is similar to the DFS sale.;) While that kind of advertising assumes an element of gullibility on the part of the customer, it is quite commonplace.

I didn't pay any postal charges.

I have come to find out the same as I read in yesterdays Guardian about their offer - £139 in the south east - and am interested. I am in the age group now where these tests would be helpful especially since a close relative died from stroke.
Is a spelling mistake really a bad indication of a company's performance? I would say not.
