are you that artfuldodger? either that or some jealous landlord, first time landlords should have has good a chance of any to get a good start just because they will be making more money of their one property, theres no need to cry about it.

BTL mortgage rates are high, if a landlord can save over 100 pound a month fir 5 years by being a resident for a week then i wish them luck.

get over it, its only 6000 pound over 5 years.

Your right Socrates, but the joke is, Rent to Buy thinks he is being Smart!
Watch the smile get wiped in a few months time, when Criteria changes o the new lender questions where the deposit has come from !

Actually what gave it away was the fact that under his other name he quotes the same LTV figures - value of house, outstanding mortgage etc.

In one thread he gets 'confused' and answers with his other name and then goes back to this one.

Yes but that is not fraud, he still has to pay the money back, and to be honest if he says its for home improvements or if its to buy another house to let.

Because he still has to pay the money back it's not fraud?

By that rationale, if I am unemployed and spend my whole day watching tv in my y-fronts watching Tricia and Judge Judy, but apply for a mortgage to "Halifax" and tell them I'm a Barrister earning £100,000 a year, and manage to get them to lend me £350,000 on a mortgage . . . it's "not fraud because I still have to pay it back".

Hmmmm, good luck with that excuse.

Forgive him - he is 'confused'

that would just be plain stupid, why borrow money you have no way of paying back???

If someone wants to pretend they earn loads of money to get a mortgage, and then not be able to pay it then more fool them.

In my eyes he his just applying for a mortgage, if the bank think think he can afford it on his wages they will give it him, whether its residential or a btl mortgage, all im saying which you lot may say his wrong, is if i was him i would all if a sudden forget about renting my property when he applys for the mortgage, but ask what happens if he decides to in the future.

If they say you cant do it for 6 months then fair enough he will have to wait, but by saving 100 pound a month, by getting the lower residential mortgage will save him in the future.

    sour grapes.
