Hi, Its my parents Ruby Wedding Anniversary shortly and am struggling to find them a gift. There doesnt seem to be a great deal of choice, things are either too expensive or a bit tacky.
I dont have much money to spend. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hiya
it was our friends ruby anniversary not long ago and we got them a rose called ruby anniversary, put them in a nice red pot and wrapped it up in red paper & cello. They absolutely loved it.
Might be something you could get for your mum & dad. Also, maybe you could cook them a nice, posh meal too?

Hi, Thanks, the rose is a really nice idea both my parents would appreciate that.
I was going to cook a meal but my mum insists we go out, thats why i cant afford a big present.0 -
Or/and a rose bush/tree of the samemake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
i was going to surprise my parents by converting their wedding tape onto dvd because no one has seen it (nor them) for a loooooooooooooong time!
I never did it because i couldnt find it and didnt want to ask. Maybe an option but i don't know price.
I did get them a thorntons chocolate champagne bottle with happy 40th anniversary written on it. They've still kept it.0 -

It's my in laws 40th this year too. Iv'e got the above for them 2 but can't think what else to give them. They are not sure yet if they are going to have a party or go away.
Any plant is out of the question as their garden is Being took up so that they can treat themselves to a hot tub for their anniversary. Maybe i should get them some red swim wear lol. This is my signature!0 -
Thanks for your replies. I dont think they have a wedding video, too old lol, but its a nice idea.
The chocs and champagne would have been my first choice but mums going to slimming world at the moment and god help anyone who offers her something fattening, this means my poor dad is also excluded from getting any goodies as well.0 -

They could keep the rose in a pot then there's no probs about not having a garden
Maybe you could get them red plastic champagne flutes, red plates etc to go with their hot tub. Or get them some personalised red nice & fluffy towels

Instead of towels, how about personalised red fluffy bath robes for them to run back and forth from the house inThrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time0 -
Its also my parents 40 wedding anniversary this year. Me and my sister are holding a party for them (although not sure how much imput I will get in it, I'm in the midlands and they are all up Glasgow way), anyway we decided to buy a digital photo frame, with the idea to scan photos of them over the last 40 years and it playing away at the party, plus take photos on the day and load them on.
I'm also going to make those sour containers, to put a chocolate in so guests can take one home with them.0
