I'd really like to have a go at sewing my own clothes, and have heard using a serger can make life easier and clothes more profeesional looking. I've seen some new ones going for about £150 but thats more than I can really aford, any tips on what to look for with a second hand one?

I have an overlocker and it's nice (but not essential). Mine is so old it doesn't have differential feed - which is a gizmo to keep both pieces of fabric together so that the top layer doesn't get pushed ahead of the bottom layer. I'd definitely look for that if I was buying again.
None of them are exactly easy to thread but some are easier than others and it will save lots of rude words if you get one of the easier onesIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0
