Thanks everyone!
I will do a SOA in a few weeks when I know how much of a paycut my husband is going to have to take as everything might change a bit then.
RubySlipper - we were bought a Terramundi pot for a wedding present and have been using that as our sealed pot which is being filled up nicely :j
I've got one of those too! It's really pretty so it'll be a right shame to break it at Xmas time! Worth it for the lovely £££ inside though... :rotfl:Sealed Pot Challenge 2009 # 650 (target £150)Long Haul Supporters # 158 debt free 2014Member of the Blondettes :beer:Debt Free Date: doesn't bear thinking about!0 -

The plan was to smash it once it was full but we have decided to keep it as it was a wedding pressie. So it will be a fiddly job of 'knifing' the coins out of the slot0 -

That's something to save for a dark winter night during a power cut - it'll help pass the time!Sealed Pot Challenge 2009 # 650 (target £150)Long Haul Supporters # 158 debt free 2014Member of the Blondettes :beer:Debt Free Date: doesn't bear thinking about!0 -
welcome to the forum
Looks like you have been working very hard already. I think with the current situation with the country then its a very good idea to bring your money under control.
I had my LBM a while ago now and i have brought my debts right down and almost debt free bar the mortgage.
I was made redundant 2 weeks ago and if I hadnt worked so hard getting my debts down we would be in serious trouble. I had been doing some serious overpaying on the credit cards. Now with me losing my job i am just paying minimum payment, which will put back up when i have a new job. Things are rubbish for us at the moment but we can manage which is something we wouldnt have been able to do 3 years ago
I know a lot of people dont think about it but its worth plugging away at your debts as i dont think anyone are as secure in their job as they may think.
Good luck with getting your debt down. It does get quite addictive paying off debt and saving money. I was gutted to put my cards on the minimum payment and cant wait to get back on trackMarch 2006 £15,200+ in debt April £843.64 in debt - Debt Free date Sept 2009
Egg Credit Card - £843.64 5.7%0
