Just a quick question...

...do companies have to provide names/answers to competitions they've run?

I ask because I was wondering what the answer was to the lastminute thumb counting comp I posted but when I contacted them to ask I got a rather abrupt email basically saying they weren't going to tell me answer and the winner's details wouldn't be published on the site!

How can we be sure there was a winner in these cases?

I requested winners details from 2 seperate companies from competitions that I soooooo wanted to win - one was Take That tickets at Hampden through Inn Keepers Lodge and the other was the home makeover comp through Sharp/Dolphin.

Both asked to send a SAE to request the winners details which I did and I have never received a thing from either???

I am like you and wonder if there is ever a winner with some comps

I would be interested to know what the answer was too, as I remember entering this one. I searched out the thread and went on the site, but whereas some comps say that the winners names will be available if you send a SAE, the T&C's for this one makes no mention of it.

I would really be interested is this one as well, as I don't think many people entered, as it went to game over very quickly!!!

I thought they had to provide the winners name as that is part of the legislation governing competitions.

I'll have a google and get back to you:D

Been googling and it's too difficult to find anything - keep coming up with corporate competition rules......I'm pretty sure they have to tell you as I can't think why most competition organisers would offer that as part of their t+c's unless they have to.

Maybe that Edwin chap would know if you emailed him (see the compers guide for his details)
