1st wedding anniversary ideas

Hi all
In May it will be our wedding anniversary,i know its 'Paper' & was looking for some ideas as i am a bit crap in the surprise/ideas area.
We are off to NewYork in July,so dont want to go over the top just something nice.
So has anyone got any ideas for me..?

Hi Ian,

My 1st anniversary is also in May. How about a voucher for something or a treasure hunt around your house and garden? My hubbie did this for me when we had not long moved into our new house and it was soooo romantic. The final clue led me to the fridge where there was a big cream cake waiting for me!!!

How about an anniversary message in the local paper? Some New York guide books, or a good book to read on the plane? Some dollars to spend on your trip?

I made mine a card with photos of our wedding in it, it was really personal. You could put some dollars inside to get you all excited about your trip to new york or a plan of your time in new york. depends how much money you have I guess, we went up in a hot air balloon which had nothing to do with paper, although got a paper certificate for the flight.

Cheers for the replies,we had a voucher come through the post for a discount off a meal & cheap B&B in the hotel we had our reception in,so booked in for that.

My OH bought me a dictionary (and perfume) and many years later it gives me pleasure to see my teenage children still pick up that book and use it :T

I would have got a collection of all the photos of me and my oh in the year since we been together and made a dvd slideshow with it, along with some of your favourite music.
