Cost of Ecover

Options
In my local Waitrose I was looking for shower gel and wanted to try Ecover, I found the regular size priced at £4.30!!!

Is this the norm? Or is it just that I llive in a small village and options are limited?

Ecover shower gel works out substantially cheaper if you buy the five litre size online - around £35 to £40 - and decant. I have allergy-prone skin (esp. on face) and mild eczema (body) and am able to use the Ecover shower gel all over. Very gentle and very pleasant to use.

  • I am not sure if you guys are aware Ecover and no longer that green, they resumed animal testing last year and they are also partly owned by group 4 which have some very unethical dealings. That is assuming you purchase ecover based on ethos.

Why not consider astonish cleaners I do not think I can post links but just google them, they work very well, they are 100% environmental, very ethical and non animal ingredients and testing we have happily used them about 3 years now.

You can also pick some of there gear up in Wilkos and other discount shops. Give it a try ;)

    They also do mail order

    Thanks.

The only Ecover I now use is the shower gel, which I won't risk irritating my skin by changing. I'd like to use a 'greener' shampoo but am put off by the price and by the possibility of aggravating my skin (presently have eczema on one elbow which I think is due to shampoo running down my arm!). For cleaning I have switched to Bio-D, which has a high ethiscore, and Stardrops which doesn't, but is very effective so I don't use a great deal.

I normally buy it online (Ecotopia) for £3.85 a bottle. My mum buys it from the same place in bulk and refills bottles and that is considerably cheaper.
