By now pay later VS overdraft
Me and my girlfriend are planning on buying a TV in the region of £400. We are currently both students and have 0% interest overdrafts of over £1000 each which have not even been used! I am leaving my course for a year to start a full-time placement so I will have a steady wage there and still get to keep my interest free overdraft.
I just don't see the point in going for a by now pay later option which my girlfriend wants to do. She sees it as not being debt since we will pay it back in full avoiding interest. Shouldn't we just use our overdraft which is 0% interest and we will be more inclined to pay it back and possibly even quicker than a buy now pay later? Doing this we can just take out £200 each from our overdrafts and also getting a better deal from a good online retailer.
Thoughts?

If you don't pay back by a certain date on buy now pay later, they will charge you interest on the whole balance since the date you bought it. but with your OD, I imagine you have until you finish your courses before that gets removed. Seems like a no brainer to me.Kavanne
