Ideas of how to involve mother of the groom?

Hello everyone
We're getting married in June 2010, and my fiance has just asked his dad to be best man. They are a very close family, and he would love to involve his mum in the wedding.. but we can't think of anything. We would love her to do something meaningful and really get involved.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Danielle

I asked my MIL2B to help with the dress selections of the bm's - is there any more excuses for a girly day shopping?
On most of the things we have decided we want included in our day we have asked her opinion so as to get an objective view from most of the family and so every one feels included - we dont always go with what others have suggested its just nice to ask for opinions.
MIL2B'S current mission is to help me decide which flowers to include in my wedding bouquet. This should keep her occupied whilst at her workstation over the next week lol.:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j

Could be a witness when you sign the register?
Invite her along to as much of the girly wedding stuff as possible. Involve her in dresses, cake, flowers etc.
As a Mum of two boys I would hope that one day that's how a future daughter in law would treat me.

I've tried to get my MIL2B involved by getting her to come along with me when I was trying on dresses, especially since she doesn't have a daughter. She's also organising a caricaturist to entertain the guests while the photos are being taken - that's been good because it's a nice added extra and doesn't step on anyones toes. We're also having our mum's as witnesses when we sign the register.0

Thanks everyone, I've got some great ideas now
Really like the idea of asking her to do a reading, although she's quite a shy person, so we'll have to see what she says. Also like the idea of asking her to witness the signing of the register, both very meaningful things to do.
We've got plenty of girly days planned.. can't wait!

What about a particular skill she may have too - cake baking (wedding cake), arts and crafts (thinking favours and invites), hairdresser (your hair) etc etc?Women marry men hoping they will change, men marry women hoping they won't! What I would suggest is what I am trying to do with mine...there isn't one specific job, but I am making sure to talk to her about aspects of the wedding, and ask for her opinions/suggestions on things.
Of course, if you come up with a job she can take care of, then that's even better...flowers/transport/chasing up replies etc.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219.
