I basically just put it in water let it cook, is there anything i can do with the water after the roast is cooked? Normally i would just throw the water away but i (now) know that when i boil chicken i should be saving the water for stock etc ..... is this what i should do with the water from the roast?
Thank you in advance!

I would use it to make the gravy;)
You say 'roast', a slow cooker won't roast the meat like the dry heat of an oven. don't expect any crackling.0 -
Hi Laurenbelle,
When I do a pork joint in the slow cooker I only add enough water to cover the bottom of the pan as the meat will have it's own juices. That way the joint steams rather than boils in water. Then as thriftlady suggests I remove the juices before serving, skim off any excess fat and use them to make gravy to go with the joint.

I'll add your thread to that one later to keep the ideas together.

You are absolutely right, i think i just called it that because we are used to calling it that because it was roasted growing up rather than cooked in the slow cooker. Sorry about that lol.0
