I was thinking of opening a word doc and copying and pasting recipes as i come across ones that would suit me and my family and maybe another one for cleaning stuff etc but wow i am feeling a little overwhelmed. Any ideas on how to organise all of this fantastic knowledge?
Instead of using a Word document, use a notes program - something like Evernote, which allows you to clip things - text, graphics, screenshots, just about anything - rather than cut-and-paste. It also saves the URI you got it from so you can go back and look at more of it if you want. You can sort your notes into folders, and each note can be in more than one folder, because you can tag it with as many tags as you want. So if you found a great recipe for slow-cooker bean-soup, for example, you could tag it as cooking, leftovers, cheap, beans, slow-cooker, etc, and you could find it in any of those folders. You can also search in various ways, and when you want it out of the way, it just minimises to your system-tray. All in all, it's a much easier way to save information than using a word processing program.0
