I much prefer asda to tesco.

I find my weekly shopping bill to be much cheaper when I used Asda (only ever use tesco when they send me a money off code which isn't very often, I think they have given up on me lol)

I also find that Tesco always seem to pick the most expensive option if they have to substitute an item so I can't be sure how much my shopping will be until it's delievered. Where as asda never charge you more than the price of the product you ordered, even if they have to substitute it for a higher price item. This means I know my shopping will never be more than the amount it was when I hit the checkout button when placing my order. A very handy thing to know when you are on a tight budget :)
  • thank you for that, i was thinking of asda.

I've had my shopping delivered by tesco for nearly 2 years, only late once and that due to a massive rta so could not be helped, I've only had one item missing and one with a low expiry date.

This week due to the lack of discounts online for tesco I've tried asda, should've been delivered today between 11 and 1, by 1.15 no shopping, i rang them, they had no idea where it was and said the shop would call me back...no call, shopping turned up at 1.55 and i have 37 out of 51 items ordered missing!!!!

The driver realised this and checked the van, not there.
I've had to ring them and go through all 37 items that are missing and am now waiting for the store to call me back yet again, great way to spend my Saturday off...so in answer to your question Tesco every time!

Please note that if ASDA are late in delivering they do offer to compensate so please remind them of this when you speak with them on the phone

I use both Tesco and Adsa, and usually go with which ever is the cheapest depending on what we need at the time, taking into account discount codes at Tesco and free delivery codes at Asda, try http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/ for comparisons.

Asda are better for subsitutes, as you only pay the original item price, Tesco could bring you something that is twice the price if the one you wanted is out of stock.

thanks for that because its looking like i need to call them back for the third time as the my shopping still hasn't turned up and the store still hasn't rang me
  • Tesco very variable, they never sent the same driver, so we always had to "talk them in" to where we live, don't know why they dont get satnav.

They persistently left the garden gate open, despite being reminded to close it, allowing our elderly dog to escape. The third time they did this, with no apologies, I decided three strikes and they were out. We use sainsburys now, they give an hour slot instead of 2 hours and put substitutions in a different coloured bag so you can find them to hand them back, which tesco don't do.
Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x

I used http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk yesterday for the first time, it's brilliant, my shop came out much cheaper from Tescos than the other 3 supermarkets. It suggests cheaper alternatives, and you can swap to another supermarket if you want. Highly recommended. I had a £5 discount code which covered the delivery charge and extra club card points too:D

I was a firm Tesco customer for years, but their xmas order antics, useless, nonsensical subs, and general strangeness with subs made me go to Asda. I find them much better.

I am put off ordering from Asda as the website is horrid and not at all easy to use.
