I know they're not the most flattering of things
, but they serve a purpose!! I need something to wear under a dress for a wedding next weekend! I've got some low leg pants from Debenhams for £14 a while ago, but I get the toothpaste effect a bit and it'll look obvious under this dress!
Has anyone ever tried Spanx or similar? I don't mind paying out if they do the job. I've seen lots of really high waisted stuff on the Debenhams website that looks like it comes up to bra height - do they actually stay put though? I have visions of them starting to roll down at the top.
Any ideas gratefully received!

I have tried the high waisted spanx under a dress and they do not roll down. They give good definition of your waist and do flatten tummy without being too tight or uncomfortable. Make sure you buy the correct size and I think you will be impressed. Enjoy your wedding!0

I am looking for some advice re buying spanx.
Do you buy the size you are or the size below?0 -
I'm not sure. Hopefully you can try them on over what you're wearing. A lot of money to spend on something to find it's too small then can't get a refund!Getting older is inevitable, growing up is optional :rotfl:0

I can highly recommend Spanx, i've got the hi rise panties also the higher power panties, they fit right up to my bra so no sausage effect lol, they are so comfortable and they don't roll down iykwim, i started wearing them after i gave birth and got so many compliments about how quick i lost all the weight-now i have to wear them all the time otherwise people are gonna think i'm preggers again! :rotfl:
I got them from Marshall Ward when they had a 3 for 2 offer not long back, however i'm sure there's a code on the voucher board which should bring the price down.
Marshall Ward & Additions Direct were the cheapest price i could find for these, only thing is that they've got the pictures mixed up for the higher power panties & power panties
prices are only from £11

I went to Debenhams yesterday. I'm mega broke so ended up paying £7 for some Bridget pants that come up under my bra. I picked up this cincher thing - but couldn't quite figure out to get into it! I expected it to have hook and eye fasteners - but it was just a tube. There was no way on this earth that I would have pulled it up over my hips or over my head!! Knowing me, I'd have got stuck with my arms in the air or something equally awful. OMG, what I'd ripped it while trying to shoehorn myself into it!! Doesn't bear thinking about!
I'll get some Spanx where there's a bit more cash about.Getting older is inevitable, growing up is optional :rotfl:0
