Hi
I would like to buy a sat nav but I don't which ones are best. I tried a friend's tom tom and it seemed pretty good but not sure what type it was.
I don't need Europe or US maps.
Is there one that I can update for free? If not, is it better to buy a cheap one and just replace when it is out of date?
Thanks for your help!

I think Tom Tom are the best, simplest sat navs.
Hubby has top of the range new one, I have his old one.
I would rather a entry level £90 tom tom, than any other make.0 -
another vote for TomTom , easy to use and updates available (though not for free)Ex forum ambassador

Thanks everybody!
I am leaning towards a Tomtom - what is the base level model? A tomtom one?
Sorry I am a total novice on sat navs!0 -
Go for Tomtom ONE or Garmin NUVI 215, doesn't really matter which one to be honest.0

Cheapest TomTom is a Navigo from somewhere like Ebuyer and then google(and if you don't like the TomTom software then you can take your pick from a couple of other companies....)0
