Hi, I am probably posting in the wrong place! But I will start here and see where it takes me. To cut along story short, I have had a fair amount of debt over the past 5-6 years! I have managed to pretty much get them all paid. Two of my debts were my halifax bank account and my halifax credit card. Both of these were 'taken over' by blair oliver and scott. Not being the most clever person when it comes to money, I just thought this was normal (maybe it is)! anyway over the years I paid off my bank account overdraft debt via blair oliver, even refusing their partial settlement because I was told if I partially settled it would go on my credit file. I still have my credit card debt left but I have found information and posts on this website saying that Blair Oliver are a bad company and people who deal with them should request to see a copy of my agreement..? and maybe I shouldn't be paying them?.... also should I be requesting to reclaim my credit card bank charges!! As said not sure if this is the right forum to post on but any advice would be appreciated as am rubbish when it comes to knowing when the law is on my side!0

Ok, I will do that then...! Cheers.0 -
BOS are not playing by the rules so report them to the OFT. Make all correspondence in writing and keep copies of everything they send and you same to them.
Best of luck0 -
Hi, firly new here.
My debt has recently been moved to Bair Oliver Scott. (if any one needs to ring them whilst avoiding the massive 0845 cost, ring the Halifax switch board on 01422 380880 then ask them to dial you through to BOS, even though they say the number is external)
but i've not seen it mentioned here, but when i rang them today to organise a Payment plan, they said they could only take full payments and that i would have to contact Fairfax (0845 497 9797 also possibly wwwDOTfairfaxsolicitorsDOTcom/Default.aspx ) who dealt with setting up payment plans.
Has anyone had any dealings with this lot?
Cheers
*EDIT* oops, i didn't look very far in the forum for Fairfax. I'll do some reading up now.0 -
You might like to be aware that if you have money taken from any of your HBOS accounts by either HBOS or Blair Oliver Scott (notice this is BOS) - this is known as ROSO (right of set off) and is legal, you should simply ask for it back.
Since HBOS has been taken over by Lloyds they now have a policy of no argument return of funds taken if requested, they may well try to negotiate this and ask other questions about what funds you may have and when they can have a payment, but stand your ground and insist on repayment and you WILL get it back - Takes 48 (working) hours I believe?0 -
Hi folks I pay B.O.S weekly then simply transfer the balance of my Halifax account into my sons Halifax account, works a treat. And the letter they send every 6 months goes straight through the shredder. I can afford my weekly payment and Im sticking to what agreed with B.O.S. Dont let them bully you just be a bit SMARTER.0
