Went into Barclays today to open an account for my salary so that I can start my DMP without the Bank of Scotland grabbing all my cash.
I called in with 3 proofs of ID,passport, council tax tax bill for the year and my latest mortgage statement.Like my horse in the Grand national I fell at the first fence!:eek:My passport expired two months ago.....:o

I did exactly the same, passport had expired and the utility bill i took they had spelt my surname wrong!
I got my new account with Natwest, apart from the ID issues it went very smoothly.DMP support thread member no: 3050 -

If you do apply with the co-op bank, clearly specify that you want a 'cashminder' account as you don't want to screw-up your application with any mis-understanding. When i recently applied they asked if i was certain if i really wanted this account and it seemed they wanted me to apply for some other account
. I told them, as my credit file is laughably bad, it'd be a joke to even attempt to apply for a standard account :rotfl:.
Even so, i must says their customer service dept is very helpful and friendly indeed :T.
Good luck anyhow.

I have to 2nd, 3rd & 4th the bigging up of the Co-Op. Spent a very pleasent evening with them today setting up the little old odds & sods of my new account with them, Compared to the knuckle draggers over at Chaoot I'm currently in bank heaven !DFW NERD# 1175Proud Member of Sealed Pot Challenge #5 ~ 1479 cashless_wonder~*DEBT FREE & LOVING IT*~
