HI peep's i'm new to this so excuse me if i've broken site rules by posting a new thread.
I've been seeing little adverts on various places like facebook and things which reckon you can earn money by posting links on websites, i know by now that if something sounds too good to be true then it usually is but thought i'd ask if anyone really knows what the crack is with these things?
Thanks

the only way i can see of this working is the following
you set up a website, then use the google adwords system, you buy names of searches which then show up on google sponsored listings and other websites with the google adsense code (displays searches for webmasters on their pages)
you pay google to display your website in the searches.... you then get the traffic to your website
the other way is to do the opposite of the above and is to have a website with the google adsense code onm your site, google pays you for having the search code on your site.. you get paid when someone clicks the code and purchases from the website
there is not a lot of money in this and takes a long time to get the money upto reasonable levels
the top choice is better if your selling stuff from your websiteSilenced by the Gestapo :rotfl:0 -
I have absolutely no idea what you meant which means i haven't the technological know how to do it but thanks anyway0

They pay you to post links to websites. The more links there are to a website the higher up google results it'll be. (there's more to it than that, but for the sake of simplicity...)
Basically they pay you to go around spamming websites, "recommending" them in forums etc. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0 -

You're talking about the Googlecash system, and the above posters are quite close.
You join an affiliate network. These are other websites that pay you to send customers their way. They will either pay per visitor, or a commission from each sale. A surprisingly large amount of the internet works this way. Have a a look at the "Referrrers" section of this very board for a really bad example of this at work, or Google "discount codes" for websites that are doing well.
But rather than go to the effort of making a website, the Googlecash system asks you to buy Google adwords and send people from your advert to your affiliate website. By being shrewd can make a small profit from each advert. Repeat this hundreds of times a day and you can make a decent profit.
However:-
*Everyone is doing this now pushing up the cost of the adverts, so you need to look really hard for a niche affiliate.
*The company you want to promote may be advertising by adwords too. To stop them "competeing" with themselves they ban you from using adwords.
*Its really boring. Click, click, click, click click, click, click click, click, click click, click, click click, click, click click, click, click
Do it the proper way. Create a website about something you are passionate about. Get traffic. Then get some affiliate you can send traffic to without comprimisng the inegrity of your information.0 -
The two that I'm familiar with are Adwords and Adsense.
Use Adwords when you have your own website and you want to attract people to it in order to sell them something. If you're based in Manchester and want to sell lots of Stem Bolts to the public, you set up your website, and set up an adwords campaign such that if people type into google search terms like 'stem bolt' 'manchester bolt' 'manchester stem bolt supplier' etc then google shows your ad in the sponsored listing section (RHS of google search results), or related pages, and people will hopefully click on it to find your business. You pay google when someone clicks your advert.
Adsense is used when you have a webpage relating to a particular topic, but you're not necessarily selling a product, and you want earn income by allowing google to place adverts on your page on the same topic. When your page displays, google will select adwords adverts based on the content of your webpage, and display them within the page - if someone clicks on an advert, the person who created the advert pays their cost per click to google, and you get a share of it from google, since it was your webpage that generated the click.
Does this help?0 -
In general, the kind of advert you've seen is from so called 'link spammers' who will pay you to post links (to their clients' websites) in forums. Ethically dubious, and very little money to be made. Give it a miss.0
