If you're near South Liverpool, the Cricket Club on Aigburth Road is my favourite one. Not sure when the next one is though - I only rarely go these days.

Absolutely nothing at all wrong with Jerkinbed ... :rotfl:

I'm just really nervous of driving through the tunnels! I can't even go the long way around via Runcorn bridge because that scares the bleep out of me too!

Driving through the tunnel is easy, just pretend you're playing a racing game on the pc :rotfl:

Then you could go to the car boot in Ellesmere Port :)

Hi all, does anyone know of decent car boot sales in or around Liverpool? I don't mind going as far as places like St Helens, Ormskirk, maybe even Widnes, etc, but don't want to go over to Birkenhead/Wirral.

    Many thanks :)

Friday nights Echo normally lists the car boots and jumble sales. HTH
  • Was gonna say Burscough, but others have already mentioned that!

Haven't done a car boot for a while, 1st time I made about £90 second time was pants though and made £12, ppl wanted stuff for pennies. I enjoy going for a nosey though and they have some great stalls for plants etc.
    February Grocery Challenge £250.00

Burscough is still going, I think its on the old airfield. don't go next week as its mothers day, might see you there the week after.£10.00 a pitch, get £1.00 with the add in the Liverpool Echo on a thursday "I think".

I dug out last Thursday's Echo from the recycle bag (DH only buys it on Thursdays for the job section). Couldn't find anything about Burscough but have now come back to the thread to see that Liverbird has pointed out they're listed on Friday :)

I don't fancy Walton for selling, I did one in Fazak hospital years back and was harassed by staff trying to take my stuff away for pennies. Now I know boot sales are all about bargains but these were proper stooges! Tried to play on my conscience about how NHS staff are underpaid etc

I think I'll try the Burscough one beginning of April. I've never been there before but have heard good things about it, both for buying and selling. Thanks for the reminder about not doing it on Mother's Day owey, I wouldn't have give it a thought.

Thanks for the pricing and directions alice's mum :)

LOL You've never seen me trying to play a racing game  I can imagine the headlines in the Echo already.. MANIC WOMAN CAUSES HAVOC IN TUNNEL PILE-UP. SEVERE DELAYS EXPECTED...

Have been to the Burscough one a couple of times, it was pretty good. Best thing was when some of the locals objected so dressed up in fluorescent jackets and started directing all the cars the wrong way!!! (OH's parents live in Burscough but they weren't involved in that, thank God!!). The Titanic bouncy castle they have there is a classic too!

There was a sunday morning one at Robbins Island roundabout (Maghull/Lydiate), think its still going. Bit closer Liverpool than Burscough.

Theres a Sunday Car boot in St. Helens town centre at the side of Tesco (you can park in Tesco free after 10 a.m. Boot sale starts about 6 am. Costs £14 to sell in a car, more for a van. Go to Sthelens.gov.uk for phone details as it's run by the Council. Also there's a Saturday morning boot sale in nearby Earlestown (Market Place). Both pretty good for the odd bargain. My sister bought a (solid) silver ring with blue stone for £2 last week.:money:

Was just about to mention the one in St. Helens. From time to time I do a booty and have tried most of em - and this one seems the best for making money, plus if its windy or rainy - its in a multi storey carpark so you keep dry! Also people dont get put off by the weather like in other bootys - so plenty of buyers around
