Ok,
The CCCS forms are filled in, the letters are ready to go to my creditors, I'm all sorted with a budget and repayment plan. My official DMP just needs posting and I'm officially paying off my debts instead of ignoring and/or running away from them.
The one thing that I'm really dreading though is the hassle from creditors and DCA's. I don't know if I've got the energy or determination to deal with all their crap on and off for the next 7 years.
Part of me just wants to go BR but I've committed to doing a DMP to try and clear my debts the "honourable" way.
I guess what I'm really asking for is for someone to hold my hand and tell me its going to work and everything will be ok.
So come on guys, how about a bit of tlc for someone who's sitting here feeling just a bit scared right now..........

Well done on getting sorted:T
If your creditors start phoneing, which they might,
all you have to do is give them your CCCS client number, and tell them to talk to CCCS, :A
They will stop calling when the plan has been going a few months, you might the odd call after that
remember you are in control now:T
and you can have one of these:grouphug:PROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBT NERD #869Numpty,Not sure why but I'm crying. Of all the peeps on this board you're the kindest & most supportive of all & I'm  &

:TWell done! :T
As Numpty says, if your creditors try hassling you, you can just tell them where to go (to CCCS, of course that's what I meant), and you know can always come here for advice and support.
It's going to be along haul, sure enough, but you'll get there in the end.

Dont worry about it - I did CCCS plan many years ago now and it turned my life around.
Just be proud of yourself for dealing with this and stand tall and get assertive.
You are not running away you have taken steps to sort this out so be sure to tell your creditors to speak to CCCS - I used to give creditors their number and if they persisited I just kept on repeating myself until they hung up! :rotfl:
To be honest I was amazed that the contact from most creditors stopped as soon as i told them it was with CCCS, obviously you still get the odd persistent one but get tough with them and just stick with it!
Good Luck :grouphug:You can stand there and agonize........

Hi,
i`m just starting with payplan, and this is my worse fear. i`m really awful at handling situations.
I`m sure if we all stick together, we can stay strong.£2008 in 2008 (187) £186.

Thanks guys, i realy appreciate it.
One thing that does worry me though is my current bank a/c situation.
I've moved all of my day to day banking to barclays as i don't owe them anything but i still have a joint a/c with my ex wife with Lloyds tsb. This is used to pay joint bills for a house we have that we are trying to sell so we can go our separate ways. Nobody lives in it but it is in neg equity and won't sell.
I owe lloyds a big chunk of my £60k debt and don't want them interfering with a joint a/c. Also i don't want all of the hassle of explaining everything to my not so lovely ex wife, so i'm hoping they wont mess with that account since it is not soleley mine.
What do you think my chances are?"Life is a sexually transmitted disease....... with a 100% mortality rate"0 -
Hi,
Just keep focused on the end result, no debt and that amazing feeling (I have never felt it but I imagine it would be like this) of acheivment as you have officailly cleared the debts though hard work.
Good luck.
Re the joint account I would speak to CCS re that??
I’m back and more determined than ever!!!!!0 -
Just offering a bit of TLC and letting you know that if you're determined to sort this out, you really CAN do it. As Tasha says with regard to the joint bank account I would imagine you could speak to CCCS about what you can do.

I wonder how long before the phone calls start......."Life is a sexually transmitted disease....... with a 100% mortality rate"0 -
Your right it feels strange, but it feels good:T
Don't worry about the phone calls, you don't have to listen to anything they say, ifyou don't want to:cool:, I do just for some company:D
If its a stressful call just give them your CCCS client number and hang up, you are in charge :T
