I'm just posting to say it was bloody fantastic. We were supposed to have an attic room but we got upgraded to a Coach House room - well, the seating area was probably as large as the ground floor of our house with the bedroom up on the mezzanine level in a loft type arrangement. Both areas had huge flat screen tellies, Sky HD boxes, and DVD players. Downstairs had a Bose stereo too.
There was a rolltop bath next to the bed (weird!) and a huge rainshower in the bathroom downstairs.
The food! Oh, it was fabulous. I didn't have anything bad - there was just one element of one dish I thought didn't fit with the rest so I scraped it off. I had the best steak I ever tasted, the best smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, the finest granola that I could eat for ever, and mr kateab had a "religious experience" over a chocolate pudding.
We didn't see anyone famous and it was lovely and informal. The staff were lovely - really helpful and friendly with not a hint of snootiness. One girl even said "See you again soon" as we left - at those prices, not a hope unless we win the lottery or win another comp.
A fantastic experience all round. If you ever get the chance to go to Babington House, do so!
kateabDefinitely NOT the blogger at Katie and the Kids, OK?0
