HSBC Being Underhand?

My wife has been paying off her debts through CCCS for more than a year now.

Today, out of the blue, she received a letter from HSBC (her former bank) stating that they had received a letter from CCCS making an offer of a monthly repayment and that HSBC would accept that offer providing my wife signed forms enclosed to take out a "Managed Loan".

Surely CCCS would have consulted my wife before making HSBC a new offer on her behalf?

Are HSBC just making this up and if so could they be reported to Trading Standards?

I presume that the Managed Loan is NOT a good idea?

It is a very bad idea.

    a) Talk to CCCS. They will tell you avoid that like the plague.

    b) Inform HSBC that you are aware of their untruthful conduct regarding your account, and that unless they accept the reasonable repayment proposals from CCCS then you will be reporting them to the OFT and Trading Standards.

You are correct - do not touch this offer with a 10 foot cattleprod, let alone a bargepole! I can't remember the ins and outs of exactly why they are so evil, but I'm sure someone will enlighten us. :)
