Looking at the above deal on a £150000 mortgage. Are there any better 5year fixed with no fees about on a 75% LTV? This is for a period of 18 years.
My brain hurts as I've been looking at so many figures!
Thanks

I've been looking for a 5 year fixed rate for the last 3-4 weeks and have not found any without fees - so that sounds like a good deal straight away!
The best 5 year deal I found was 4.19% but that had £995 arrangement fee. There were some slightly higher interest rates with £549 fees, but I didn't find any with no fee, so well done! Too late for me now, mine is due to complete next week!0 -
Leeds B/S - 4.99% 5 year fixed on 75%. £199 booking fee £270 Valuation fee.0

Scaredy Cat, who was the 4.19% deal with please?
It's with Chelsea Building Society. Looking on their website, though, I think it's gone up to 4.34%. We applied a few weeks back - due to complete next week.
I'm a bit miffed I missed out on those others mentioned above. I did check A&L at the time and didn't see that rate mentioned, so maybe it's a new one only brought out after we applied for ours. I didn't even think of Leeds BS, so annoyed with myself for that.
Mind you, I did have an advisor ring me from one of those comparison places - but by the time he rang me back I'd already found the Chelsea mortgage. He said he'd see if he could find a better one and couldn't, so either he isn't very good at his jobor those rates above weren't out at the time.

scaredy cat i wouldn't be miffed i think if you got 4.19% you are beating everyone as the fees seem £500 more and over 5 years that is less than £100 a year0

Thanks! I did have to pay a £995 arrangement fee, so it's probably comparable overall - but it was the best I could find at the time.0

I'm jealous, but I do have specific overpayment requirements, so I am rather restricted where I can go, but I would bite their hands off at 4.19%!!! I am currently paying 6.19% and we thougth a good deal at the time. However I can remember when our mortgage was £100 pcm for every £10 000 borrowed!!0

Britania BS 4.54% @75%ltv £999 fee
Yorkshire BS 4.59% £245 fee
Nat West 4.69% £299 fee
RBS 4.69% £299 fee
The difference between 4.69% & 4.54% is around £10pcm for £150k mortgage. So the saving is not worth the £999 fee.
A good website for comapring. Just tell it what you want and it finds it, tho it doesnt ask anything about your earnings.
