Advice and assistance - what should i do next?

Hi everyone,
I'm assisting a relative who has got themselves into a bit of a mess.
This person was with a debt management programme but due to an error on their part or my relatives, it was just unsustainable - the income had been overstated by £250 and my relative was unable to sustain priority debts.
I cancelled that programme - have arranged repayments with the mortgage company/council tax/secured loan company. So priority debts for the moment are bing dealt with.
I have been attempting to re-negotiate with the unsecured creditors without much success - Nationwide are so nasty and unhelpful!
There are 2 credit cards and an overdraft.
Nationwide have forwarded the credit card to their debt recovery team KPR and every time I have attempted to make a payment via my own personal online banking - it gets returned by them. So I'm not sure what to do here - how am I supposed to pay them? Neither my relative or I have a cheque book.
My next point is that I sent letters to these 3 creditors, today I heard from the Nationwide FlexAccount. I worked out the repayments after deducting all essential expenditure from income and then used a formula from citizens advice to proportion it out between these 3 creditors. As I said I wrote to them, giving them all a copy of the I/E and the calculation. Today I heard from the Nationwide FlexAccount and they stated:
'Due to the balance of this Account I am not able to accept your recent offer of repayment. The minimum monthly payment I can accept will be £10 plus monthly interest charges.
Whilst I'm sympathetic towards your current financial situation I'm unable to freeze interest or other standard charges at this stage.
Several letters will be issued before the Notice of default and Final Demand letters are sent. Once this process is complete the account will be passed to our debt recovery team for further action.
Please call me if you are able to increase your offer of repayment.'
How do I respond to this? It is so frustrating because every month they add charges and interest and decrease what was my relatives overdraft limit, so the debt is just going up and up!
Any advice on how to respond would be greatly appreciated. Oh and what should I do about the credit card payments?
Thanks again
